ADULT SEWING CLASSES:

Beginning Sewing – Adults & Teens-- Learn sewing basics with easy & fun projects such as an apron, tote bag, p.j. bottoms, pants, skirt, and a top.   Class sizes are small in order to give you individualized attention from an industry professional and the freedom to work at your own pace.  Sewing machines will be provided in the classroom. A supply list will be provided upon sign-up.

Intermediate Sewing - Adults & Teens -- (*Prerequisite) Learn tips & tricks from an instructor from the L.A. Garment District.  Bring your choice of pattern and have an industry professional work side-by-side with you.  You’ll love what you learn in this class!  Cost $14/hour, plus materials.  (Purchase 4 classes in advance and pay only $13/hour.)

Deco Journal Cover - Thurs. Feb 18th, 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Create a beautiful Deco Journal cover and learn decorative stitching in a variety of stitches, stabilizing your fabric, applying piping and some tricks by the instructor. Cost is $35. plus materials. Minimum of 7 students is needed. Sign up by February 10th, 2010 to reserve your space in this great class.

Amy Butler Handbag

Yes, Amy Butler is back!!! She's the hottest pattern and fabric designer out there. There are 3 styles of handbags and lots of her fabrics to choose from. Hurry, this class will fill fast! $30, plus materials

Origami Bag - Just like "paper" orgami this small drawstring bag is fascinating. The oragami creates pockets and makes this bag functional and fun! Cost $25, plus materials. A supply list will be provided upon sign-up.

Interchangeable Bag - Adults & Teens
This bag is gorgeous and everyone who sees it loves it. Choose your fabric to make it a daytime bag or an evening bag or both! It has an interchangeable handle & optional shoulder chain which you can select from several different finishes. You will love this bag's versatility. Cost $30.00, plus materials. Machine Embroidery Classes:

Cutwork Lace - Cutwork lace doesn't take the time it used to...thanks to machine embroidery! Come learn how easy it is to make something so beautiful. This technique is perfect for napkins, tablecloths & clothing. Cost: $30 + supplies

Embroidered T-Shirts - Learn the techniques for embroidering on stretch fabrics and see how easy it is once you know the tricks! Bring your embroidery machine and a t-shirt. Cost: $30 + design

Embroidered Sweaters - Learn to embroider a sweater for yourself or a loved one. See how easy it is to turn any sweater into something fun & beautiful! Bring your embroidery machine & a sweater. Cost $30+design.

Embroidered Towels

Learn the tips and tricks of embroidering on towel fabric.   It’s amazing to monogram or customize towels yourself.  Bring your embroidery machine and a towel. Cost $30 + your choice of design.

QUILTING CLASSES:

Quilting I - Learn basic quilting & rotary cutting skills while making a beautiful table runner from an accomplished quilting instructor.  4 - 2 hour sessions@ $14/hour + supplies

Quilting II - This class will use strip piecing techniques to make a lap sized Double Irish Chain quilt. "Strip Piecing" is an easy patchwork piecing technique that saves both cutting and sewing time and increases sewing accuracy. This method is suitable for both beginning and intermediate quilters. Beginning sewing required or equivalent.

Embroidered Jeans - Learn the tricks for embroidering on heavier fabrics such as denim.  Bring a pair of jeans, a jean jacket, or jean shirt with your embroidery machine. Cost $30 + design.

Janome Customizer Software Class - Learn how to use your Janome Customizer embroidery software. It can open up a whole new embroidery world!  Instruction Fee: $30 (software sold separately)

Janome Digitizer Jr. Software Class - Learn how to use your Janome Digitizer embroidery software. There is so much more embroidery fun! Instruction Fee: $30 (software sold separately)

Monogramming Pillowcases - Learn the tricks to apply multiple monograms & become a pro at buttonholes (used decoratively).  Cost $30 (Your embroidery machine will need the built-in monogram feature.)

Advanced Sewing Classes:

RTW Designer Shirt Secrets – (*Prerequisite) We’ll cover a lot in this class. You’ll learn all the secrets to making a RTW designer shirt from an instructor who has worked in manufacturing in the L.A. Garment District. She’ll teach you all the special tips and tricks to making a professional looking store bought shirt. Even if you're an advanced sewer you'll learn things you never dreamed! Cost $55.00, plus materials. A supply list will be provided upon sign-up.

Décor Cloak – (*Prerequisite) Come learn fun techniques for a fabulous decorative cloak. You’ll learn how to make fancy flowers, fun fringe and couching fibers to give this cloak pizzazz! We’ll discuss how you can apply all these techniques to RTW garments. Cost $40.00, plus materials. A supply list will be provided upon sign-up.

Rolled Edge T-Shirt (Serger Class) – (*Prerequisite) This class will help you learn more about your serger. We will complete a knit shirt with a rolled edge treatment called "lettuce edge". You’ll be amazed with the results. This wonderful sewing machine just may be your favorite after you complete this class. Cost $25.00, plus materials. A supply list will be provided upon sign-up.

RTW Designer Pant Secrets – (*Prerequisite) We’ll cover a lot in this class. You’ll learn all the secrets to making RTW pants. We’ll teach you all the special tips and tricks to making a professional looking store bought pair of pants.
Cost $45.00, plus materials. A supply list will be provided upon sign-up.

KIDS CLASSES:

PROJECT FUNWAY- Kids weekly afternnoon classes - Learn sewing the fun-way and create clothing and easy-sew-projects in an encouraging environment. Intermediate and advanced students are welcome too as they will continue to build-on what they know. Sewing machines will be provided.A supply list will be provided upon sign-up.

Mondays, Tuesdays or Wednesdays 3:30pm-5:00pm - Cost $14 per hour, plus materials.

SEWING BIRTHDAY PARTIES!!! Bring your fabric in advance and we'll embroider the children's names on it. When the kids arrive they will construct their very own pillow case which will have their names embroidered along the side. Maybe you would even want to have a sleepover at your home afterwards!

Girl Scout Badges - Complete the requirements to earn sewing-related badges. This has been a fun Girl Scout project! Call for more information.

Definition of “RTW” means “Ready to Wear”    *Prerequisite – Must know basic sewing skills
